Also known as a "colonic", "colon lavage", "colon irrigation", or "high colonic", colonic hydrotherapy is a safe, effective method for cleansing the colon of waste material by repeated, gentle flushing with water. The material that is flushed out of the colon can be seen through a mirror as it passes through the view tube and the therapist will explain what it is and where it comes from. There may be periods during the colonic when the water passing through the view tube is clear before the gentle flushing action induced by the therapist releases material from the colon.
